A good culture violently executed now is better than the “perfect” culture executed months from now
The foundation of every great culture is psychological safety
The keystone of every great culture is unique to the organization
Culture must be defined from the bottom up
Culture must be modeled from the top down
Cultural values without clearly associated cultural practices are nothing but words on a page
Culture serves as much to identify those who won’t fit in with you as it does to empower those who do

This summer, I’ll be leading my first leadership retreat. From the night of Wednesday, August 3rd 2022 to the morning of Sunday, August 7th 2022, I’m inviting 10-12 leaders to come together to do the work in New York’s beautiful Adirondacks (Indian Lake, to be specific).
My goal for everyone who attends: Vision, Connection, and Renewal.
I’ll share more as more of the itinerary comes together. Do let me know if you might be interested so I can keep you in the loop!
P.S. Things have been busy on my end lately, so the next few editions of the newsletter may be characterized by their brevity. As I put today’s together I noticed a voice inside me shouting stories about there needing to be “enough” in the newsletter, followed by another, much wiser, voice that pointed out that brevity can also be responsible for profound shifts in perspective. I’m excited by the challenge of saying more with less words and time.
P.P.S The world is a disorienting place right now. I suspect it will be as the rate of change of nearly everything continues to accelerate. I hope you, your friends, and your families are safe and healthy. Perhaps the one thing these times have to offer us is a realistic reset on our perspective.
